Our hearts go out to those affected by the devastating floods in our state last week. In response, people across the country are asking how they can help our citizens and communities recover. Philanthropy WV has set up a page on their website to connect you with resources to volunteer, donate, and provide immediate and long-term recovery assistance. Click here to visit this page. Read more in their press release here.
Volunteer WV is working alongside WV Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (WV VOAD) to coordinate the statewide volunteer response for the flooding. To register your interest in helping West Virginia flood response and recovery efforts, click here. At this time, volunteers are asked to stay at home for your own safety. As soon as road hazards are clear and needs are identified, a volunteer coordinator will contact you to schedule a volunteer shift or overnight deployment. To receive regular e-mail updates on storm response contact Gina (gina.l.namay@wv.gov) at Volunteer WV.
