Do I need insurance to enroll in mat treatment?
No. You can pay out of pocket, use Florida Medicaid (SMMC) if eligible, or qualify for sliding-scale rates at many Florida federally qualified health centers. Uninsured patients should still call MAT programs to ask about grant-funded slots and state-funded treatment vouchers.
Do MAT programs in Florida offer sliding-scale fees?
Many Florida community behavioral-health agencies and federally qualified health centers offer sliding-scale fees based on household income. Sliding-scale fees commonly bring a weekly methadone visit down to $5–$25. Ask MAT programs in your area about discounted rates when you call.
Can I keep the same mat provider when I switch Florida Medicaid (SMMC) plans?

Does insurance cover the counseling portion of mat the same as the medication?

Can Florida patients get an extended take-home supply of mat?

Are there allergic reactions to mat?
